GARDENA — The Greater L.A. Singles Chapter of the JACL (just renamed Greater L.A. JACL) held its Hana Uno Shephard Scholarship and chapter fundraising dance on May 31 at the Ken Nakaoka Community Center in Gardena. David Shinjo provided music and led the Monday Night Formation Team in an exhibition of dances (below). Event chair Miyako Kadogawa conducted the opportunity drawing with assistance from Pacific Southwest District JACL Program Coordinator Traci Ishigo. The scholarship recipient is West High School senior Ashley Ishigo, who will attend USC. She was unable to attend the dance due to Prom Night.

Attendees danced the night away.
