Vallejo added that the company will announce the location of its first plant in Mexico, capable of making 150,000 cars in phase one, by the end of this year, without revealing further details. In February, BYD Americas CEO Stella Li told Reuters that the facility, mainly for the local market rather than for export, will likely be located in central and southern areas of the country, rather than northern Mexico near the US border.
